Game Description
Take Control of a Space Bounty Hunter investigating a Distress Signal aboard the space station Omnivium. The space station has been taken over by an alien parasite that has infected you. It is now a race against time to track down this alien and extract its DNA before the mutations take over.
In this third-person stealth adventure, you must carefully balance the use of your powerful mutations with the constant risk they bring. Every ability you unleash pushes your mutation meter closer to chaos, and overuse means almost certain death. Explore the eerie sci-fi world of the Omnivium, a massive space station now crawling with creatures overtaken by a deadly alien parasite. Sneak through dark corridors, scavenge for new abilities, and expand your arsenal as you adapt to survive. Master your mutations, outsmart the infected, and uncover the secrets behind the parasite before it consumes everything, including you.
Parasite Zero was created by a group of students taking game design three at Wichita State University’s Shocker Studios. Each Student chose to be a designer, programmer, or artist. The designers made choices of how the game should be functioned, how the game should be played, and designed the levels. Programmers made sure the game functioned the way the designers intended. Artist’s role was set dressing, UI, and marketing Material for the game.
Over the 16 week semester, we explored the tension of power and risk and how using mutations could be both exciting and dangerous. Everyone put hours into the gameplay mechanics of the enemies, the mutation system, and the levels. We hope you enjoy navigating the infested corridors and mastering the mutations as much as we enjoyed building them.
