Jacklynn Wild - Development Log Final

A lot of this project was fun, but there were a few moments where I felt lost and semi-directionless. Thankfully my team and several others could always help me find work in the short-term to keep me occupied with this project so I wouldn't fall behind or be a dead weight not performing on the same level as everyone else. I was behind the very first drafts of level layout, basing the maps on an old castle floor-plan found by Riley, and then they were edited by the collective group after we split off and started populating / decorating on our own. After that, I handled all the UI art, using inspiration form other games like Skyrim and Satisfactory, combined with a medieval fantasy twist for the specific style I wanted for the game's elements. I also was given the reigns to the prince's bedroom, which is story important. I really wanted this area to feel lived in and rich with presence, stacking books, leaving a few clothes spread out in places, making the room look like a real person lives there was a fun challenge. The windows were my favorite part, making a vignette of the starry sky and moon outside, obscured by spinning continuous clouds and howling wind. Overall DtP was a joy to work on, and I thank all my teammates for the opportunity to work on this project.
