Contributions to the Project:
- Wrote description for the Missile skill
- Designed the Ending section of the game's story beats
- Added various character quips based on the player being in-combat, when enemies are approaching, and when the player defeats enemies
Unexpected Moments during Project Development:
- Having only a few weeks to build the narrative of the game was difficult. We managed to do it, but I definitely think that having more time to develop the world and characters would've really made the game shine.
- We built a whole game in a month!
Successes:
- Effective communication amongst the other writers in my team and the other concentration teams as well. It was easy to work with the Artists and Programmers.
- Frequent meetings and a Discord server ensured that everyone was on the same page during the project's development and allowed for quick resolutions to any issues or questions that others had.
Challenges:
- Short timeline to create game resulted in little time for narrative development.
Thoughts Overall:
I enjoyed creating a game with a team and it was fun to come up with the story from scratch. I would've liked having more time to develop the game overall, but I think we managed to come up with something solid regardless.
