Isaac Tiguila - Writer and Sound Engineer
What did I learn?
Working on this project illuminated me to many of the trials and tribulations of working on a game in a crunch setting. The stress involved was harsh but manageable. I have learned to value the management of a team lead in a game development setting. Several people stepped up as unofficial leads who took the helm to keep everything on track. I did my best to answer questions for each department from the narrative team lens to keep progress from halting.
What was the most surprising part of this project?
I have come to appreciate the planning process even more as it will save a lot of effort in the long run for development. Learning in real-time just how much can go wrong down the line if proper contingencies and communications aren't in place was surprising.
What is my greatest achievement on this project?
My greatest achievement for this project was managing the chaos. Communication has always been my strong point and I did my best to make sure that departments were informed of what next step needed to be taken. Our writing team all took on various jobs outside of writing for the game and I coordinated those jobs. I also recorded and cut the dialogue for the game. Working with a professional voice actor for a few hours was a huge highlight for me.
