Art Team Devlog - Sprint 6, Week 2


The art team has officially completed the art pass for Parasite Zero.  We are now primarily working on small bug fixes relevant to the art side of things and conducting playtesting.



Parker

  • Small art adjustments/additions for visual interest
  • Reviewed artist's work and worked with them to make adjustments


Callum


Annastachia

  • UI Additions/fixes
    • Main menu is now more interesting and unique to our game with rotating images from the first level
    • Fixed Issue with main menu options buttons not working
    • Option menu has an audio and graphics tab
    • Controls on the pause menu blur the buttons so it is not blue on blue
    • New Icon for when the player can use their health ups - still in the process of fixing & Tweaking




Aalani

Playtesting Bugs: 

  • Main menu Options does not close properly when selecting back button no apply, stays on screen
  • No sound when hit by enemies
  • First boss randomly spawned on player and stayed T-posed and would not attack
  • Voice over of Zub is drowned out by overworld sound
  • Unsure if the player just has the sword in inventory already, if so the chain icon doesn’t unlock
  • Randomly can have the sword, sometimes have no access to sword
  • Resolution does not change even after applying within the menu
  • More of a play testing thing, but unsure of the direction to take to get to the end of the game or unlock the other abilities. 

-My part of the level I need to delete the debug test balls ( I think unless they still need to be there and just delete the text.)


Kylar

Barracks Level

-Constant footstep audio overlay that plays the entire time you’re in the level. (Video

Provided).

-Add text to let the player know which button to press to trigger puzzles and other events.

-When using Wall Climb, I sometimes fall into the Wall Climb asset itself. 

-Able to use Shotgun and Knife without unlocking them

-Shotgun needs to make a sound when used

-Shotgun doesn’t hurt small enemies

-Can’t climb over some Wall Climb assets when using them. (Video Provided).

Boss Level

-UI Icons for all abilities show that they are locked when they are not.

-Boss doesn’t react to you at all unless you are right in front of them.

-Same issue with Wall Climb that prevents me from fully climbing over the asset at the top of the building.
