Art Team Devlog - Sprint 3, Week 1


This devlog serves as a record of the art team's focus for Sprint 1, from September 29th to October 6th. The team is working on separate pieces to bring it all together to create a good-looking game! Below are all the individual devlogs from each member of the art team.

For this sprint, Jaedon Wallace from the Design Team was a huge help and stepped in to create the materials and decals to be used on assets/locations where the player can use their grappling hook and wall climb abilities! A huge thanks/shout out for doing that for us!

Parker

  • Set Dressing
    • Added more props, focusing on walls
    • Adjusted the color of the walls
    • Replaced blockout offshoots with proper assets (walls, floor, props)
    • Added fleshy/organic decals throughout the main barracks
      • Decals created by Jaedon Wallace!




Callum

  • Yippee more setdressing!
    • Fixed some walls
    • Added pipes
    • Changed wall angle
    • Minor material alterations


Annastachia

For this Sprint I finished the UI items so I can start set dressing. I also updated the asset for the vibration matching game to fit into our world instead of white boxes.

  • UI Updates
    • HUD- grapple icon is different and now instead of being yellow when on something grapple-able it becomes more spread out with more little arrows
    •  Dialogue now has an art box
    •  Flow minigame- this need two new assets (start and end) I also made it so when the player is wrong when they hit submit it flashes red and green when they are correct. I also added new versions of the pipes for when the player hovers and clicks the pipe buttons

Another one of my tasks was to make enemy awareness Icons. I made one for not fully aware, the question mark, and the eyes is when they see you. I made the red one first but the vibe was too menacing so I made the black one. Figured the red one would be good if the Big Guy saw you vs the little guys spotting you with the black eye.



Aalani

Set Dressing

  • Added more props, catching up to fixing walls and floors - Organizing into proper folders
  • Wall climbing area needs lighting (waiting for a pass on that)



Kylar

  • Set Dressing
    • Finished Set Dressing floors and walls in Power A room, also added props.
    • Set Dressing for the Main Power room.
