Sound Devlog - Sprint 5, Week 1


This week I started implementing sounds from the music composition class into the project. I began with footsteps, and I did some work to make it so that footstep sounds can be different per-material that the player is walking on. To do this, I had to edit some of the work that was already there from GASP-ALS and make it fit the needs for this project. In the video you can see debug strings showing that the game recognizes both "Default" and "Mutation" materials that the player is walking on. You can also hear the different footstep sounds when I walk on the Mutation material.
